5. A truck starts from rest and rolls down a hill with a constant
acceleration. It travels a distance of 400 m in 20 s. Find its
acceleration. Find the force acting on it if its mass is
7 tonnes (Hint: 1 tonne = 1000 kg.)

Answer:

7000N

Explanation:

Since acceleration(a) = v/t

and velocity(v) = distance(d)/time(t)

so v = 400/20 = 20m/s

Again

a= v/t= 20/20 = 1ms-2

Thus

force(f) = mass*acceleration

=7000kg*1ms-2              (1tonn=1000kg)

=7000N ans

Answer:

Acceleration = 1 m/s²

Force = 7000N

Explanation:

Initial Velocity, u = 0 m/s

Final Velocity = v

Distance Covered, d = 400 m

Time Taken, t = 20 s

We know that, d = vt     => 400 = 20v       => v = 20m/s

We know that, Acceleration, a = (v-u)/t = (20-0)/20 = 1 m/s²

Mass, m = 7 tonnes = 7000 kg

We know that, Force, F = ma = 7000 x 1 = 7000N

Hope this helps.....
