Using UNITARY METHOD
150 kg weight is of = 5 bags
1 kg weight is of = 5 / 150 bags
900 kg weight is of = 5 / 150 * 900
= On calculating
= 4500/150
= 30 bags
On using DIRECT AND INVERSE VARIATION METHOD ::
No. of bags = 5 ( in case 1 ) , Let x ( in 2nd Case)
Weight = 150 kg ( in case 1 ) , Let 900 kg (in 2nd Case)
As increase in no. of bags will surely increase the weight and hence it is a case of DIRECT variation.
hence 5 bags / 150 kg = x bags / 900 kg
On cross multiplying ::
5 * 900 kg = x * 150 kg
4500 =150x
4500 / 150 = x
30 = x
30 bags = x
So 30 bags of rice weigh 900 kg.
150 kg weight is of = 5 bags
