The answer is 22 boys
Given:
5 boys take 7 hours to pack 35 cartoons
To find:
How many boys can pack 65 cartoons in 3 hours?
Solution:
Given for 5 boys it took 7 hrs to pack 35 cartoons
Note:
If a work 'w₁' is done by 'm₁' in hrs 'h₁' and work 'w₂' is done by 'm₂' men in hrs 'h₂' then
m₁h₁/w₁ = m₂h₂/w₂
From given data,
m₁ = 5, h₁ = 7, w₁ = 35 and h₂ = 3 and w₂ = 65
Let m₂ = x
⇒ 5(7)/35 = x(3) /65
⇒ 65(5)(7) = x(3)(35)
⇒ 65 = 3x
⇒ x = 65/3
⇒ x = 21 2/3
Here we can't say 21 2/3 boys
⇒ The answer is 22 boys
