5 chair and 4 tables together cost rupees 5600 while 4 chair and 3 tables together cost rupees 4340. find the cost of a chair and that of a tables

Let tables and chairs are x and y respectively.

Given that two tables and three chairs together cost Rs 2000 i.e

2x + 3y = 2000 ----------(1)

And three tables and two chairs together cost Rs 2500 i.e

3x + 2y = 2500 -----------(2)

Solving (1) and (2) we get

x = 700 and y = 200.

Therefore , cost of one table = 700 and Cost of one chair = 200

Hence the total cost of one table and five chairs is = 1x 700 + 5 x 200 = 1700 Rs.
