Phycomcycetes, mycelium is cenotypic and aseptate in nature, whereas in Ascomycetes, mycelium is in form of a branch, single-celled and is septate in nature.
Zoospores, Sporangiospore, Aplanospores and Chlamydospores formation is seen in Asexual reproduction of Phycomycetes. Budding and Conidia are forms of Asexual reproduction in Ascomycetes .
Oogamy and Isogamy are types of sexual reproduction in Phycomycetes, whereas in Ascomycetes, sexual reproduction occurs with ascus that contains ascospores.
Zygospore is the fruiting body in Phycomycetes, Ascocarp is the fruiting body in Ascomycetes.
