KHADAR

1)the new alluviam is known as khadar

2)it is called 'bet' in Punjab

Difference between Bhangar and Khadar:

  • Bhangar is old alluvial wheras khadar is new
  • The areas aroung bhangar are well drained  while khadar are formed by fresh deposits
  • Bhangar soil areas lies quitely above the limits of flood while khadar do not
  • Khadar soil comprises of silt mud and clay ' while Bhangar soil contains silt , mud and clay
