it is maintained by the living being on the earth . when humans and animals inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide . this carbon dioxide gas is used by the plants in the process of photosynthesis . in this process oxygen is released which is used by animals and human beings to inhale it and gain energy .the cycle continues the same . hence the percentage of both the gases is maintained..
