  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the value of the expression.

        Given data:- \frac{5}{4}+\frac{-11}{4}.

To find:- the value of x.

         Solution:-

  • We will take the LCM of the denominators, and make denominators the same.
  • We will Convert the given fractions to equivalent fractions with the denominator as the LCM.
  • Adding the numerators over the denominators.

        Therefore,

         =\frac{5}{4}+\frac{-11}{4}\\=\frac{5}{4}-\frac{11}{4}\\=\frac{5-11}{4}\\=\frac{-3}{2}.

Hence, the value will be \frac{-3}{2}.
