1 Ans) The dwindling of wildlife on the planet mean the decrease in wildlife on Earth. Research shows that the number of wild animals has shown a fifty percent decrease over 40 years. The reasons behind this are the following; (i) Increase in human inhabitants.

2) The importance of forests cannot be underestimated. We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Besides providing habitats for animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change.

3) They grow beyond an altitude of 500 meters. That location means mountain forests consist of trees that aren't found in lower-lying areas. The trees have adapted to the cool climate, heavy downpours and intense sunshine. In low-lying areas, they're squeezed out by different tree species

4) India is home to several well-known large animals, including the Indian elephant, Indian rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, Asiatic lion, Indian leopard, snow leopard, and clouded leopard.
