So by PYTHAGORAS THEOREM

(HYPT)²= (BASE)²+(PERP)²

(AD)²=(AB)²+(AD)²

BD²= 24²+18²

BD²=576+324

BD²= 900

BD²=30²

BD = 30 ANSWER
