5. From the rectangular field of length 15 m and breadth 12 m the soil is
taken out from the ditch of length 5 m, breadth 4 m. and depth 1 m. This
soil is spread over the remaining part of the field. Find the height of the
layer of the soil over the field.

area of rectangle =15×10=150m²

area of square pit=5×5=25m²

remaining area=150-25=125m²

volume of sand dug out=5×5×1=25m³

therefore 25m³we have to spread on 125m²

this implies rise in level of field =25/125=1/5=0.2m
