A .As the tomato ripens, its colour starts to change from green to yellow and then eventually to red. This is due to the breakdown of chlorophyll, which in turn synthesises a red carotenoid (another pigment group), lycopene. When ripe, the carotenoid can easily be seen as the dominant colour of the tomato, ie red.

B.The plant cells have large vacuoles because plants cannot change its place from one place to another to take nutrients from the surroundings. So they need to store water and food in their cell in a vacuole. This vacuole is an important part of a plant cell.

C.Cells are microscopic structures which cannot be seen with naked eye. Cells can be seen with the help of microscope. Hence, only after the invention of microscope, the cells and their structure was elucidated

D.mitochondria are the power house of the energy

E.Multicellular organisms are made of many different cells. Each cell has a different shape that allows it to perform a specific task in order to contribute towards the overall function of the organism. Specialized cells in multicellular organisms are needed simply because of their sizes!
