S O L U T I O N :

By Substitution Method :

  • 3x + 2y = 6............(1)
  • 2x + 3y = 4............(2)

From equation (1),we get;

→ 3x + 2y = 6

→ 2y = 6 - 3x

→ y = 6 - 3x/2.............(3)

∴ Putting the value of y in equation (2),we get;

→ 2x + 3(6 - 3x/2) = 4

→ 2x + 18 - 9x/2 = 4

→ 4x + 18 - 9x = 8

→ 4x - 9x + 18 = 8

→ -5x = 8 - 18

→ -5x = -10

→ x = -10/-5

→ x = 2

∴ Putting the value of x in equation (3),we get;

→ y = 6 - 3(2)/2

→ y = 6 - 6/2

→ y = 0/2

→ y = 0

Thus,

The value of x & y will be 2 & 0 .

A/q

⇒ x + y

⇒ 2 + 0

⇒ 2

The value of x + y will be 2 .
