Correct question -

If an angle is 6 degree less than twice of its supplement then how much both of the angles measure .

Solution -

Supplementary angles - There sum is equal to 180 degree.

Let's assume that one angle is .

and 2nd angle as .

According to the question , other angle will be -

→ y = 2x° - 6

Sum is = 180°

→ x+y = 180°

→ x +2x -6 = 180°

→ 3x = 186°

\sf{ x = \dfrac{186}{3} }\\

x = 62° is the first angle.

→ y = 2(62) - 6

→ y = 124 - 6

y = 118° .

Verification -

→ 62 + 118 = 180°

Hence verified .

Correct Question :-

▪ If an angle is 6° less than twice its supplement, how much the measure of each angle.

_______________________________

Concept :-

Supplementary Angle :- Two angles are said to be

supplementary if the sum of their measures is 180°

➦ Two supplementary angles are called the supplement to each other.

Solution :-

Let, the first angle be x

and the second angle be y

According to the question

Angle is 6 less than twice its supplement

then,

y = ( 2x-6) ................................(i)

Now,

sum of two angles is 180°

x + y = 180°

x + 2x-6= 180° ......(using equation 1st)

x +2x = 180° + 6°

3x = 186 °

x = 186/3

x= 62°

∴The measure of 1st angle is 62°

and the measure of second angle

2x - 6 = 2 × 62 -6 = 124 - 6 = 118°

∴The measure of second angle is 118°
