Correct Question

⇒ if tanx = 12/5 Then  , find secx

Solution

⇒ We know that

tanx=perpendicular(P)/base(B)=12/5

⇒ So we get

perpendicular(P)= 12 and base(B)=5

⇒Now using Pythagoras theorem , so we get Hypotenuse(H)

H² = P²+ B²

Where P = 12 and B = 5 , put the value

⇒H² = (12)² + (5)²

⇒H² = 144 + 25

⇒H² = 169

⇒H = √(169)

⇒H = 13

⇒So we have to find

Secx = base(B)/hypotonus(H)

⇒Putting the value ,we get

secx = base(B)/hypotonus(H) = 5/13

Answer

⇒ Secx=5/13
