Answer:

This answer can be done using unitary method

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Cost of 12 strawberries= Rs. 300

Now,

Cost of 1 strawberry=Rs. 300/12

                               = Rs. 25. Ans

Hope this helps you!

Thank you

Required Solution:

Here, we can solve this question in two ways.

  • By using unitary method.
  • By using direct variation concept.

By using unitary method:

⇒ Cost of 12 strawberries = Rs. 300

⇒ Cost of 1 strawberry = Rs.  \sf{\dfrac{300}{12} }

⇒ Cost of 1 strawberry = Rs. 25

By using direct variation concept :

Let ,

  • Cost of 1 strawberry be x.

 \small\boxed {\begin{array}{c|c|c}\underline{\sf{Number \: of \: strawberries}} & \underline{\sf{12}} & \underline{\sf{1}}  \\ \\\underline{\sf{Cost \: (In \: Rs.) }} &\underline{\sf{Rs. \: 300}} &\underline{\sf{x}}\end{array} }

As less is the number of the strawberries , less is the cost of the strawberries.So, it is a case of direct variation. Since, it is the case of direct variation, so

\sf{If \: x \: and \: y \: are \: in \: direct \: variation,then} \\  \\  \bull \:  \:  \:  \sf{ \dfrac{x_1}{y_1} = \dfrac{x_2}{y_2} =  \dfrac{x_3}{y_3}   = \dfrac{x_n}{y_n} }

According to the question,

 \sf { \dfrac{12}{300} = \dfrac{1}{x}}

By cross multiplication,

⇒ 12(x) = 1(300)

⇒12x = 300

⇒x = Rs  \sf { \dfrac{300}{12}}

⇒x = Rs. 25

Therefore, the cost of one strawberry is Rs. 25.
