Answer:

Let's first find the number of girls ✓

For that we have to convert that percentage of girls into number of girls in the class.

Number of girls in the class = 40% of 40

Now for removing that percentage sign ( % ) we will divide 40% by 100.

As,

➺ 40/100 × 40

➺ 4 × 4

➺ 16

Therefore the number of girls in the class are 16

Now for finding number of boys we will Substract number of girls from the total number of students in the class.

As,

Number of boys = Total number of students - Number of girls

Number of boys = 40 - 16

= 24 boys

So

The number of girls = 16

The number of boys = 24
