1) Ficus religiosa or Peepal Tree is a species of fig native to Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri  Lanka, south-west China and Indochina. 

2) The Ficus religiosa tree is considered sacred by the followers of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism.
