Do you agree with this quotes? I do. A good health is the biggest and the most valuable wealth a human being can have. Why? Because all the money, cars, big house and a lavish lifestyle is useless if you are not healthy enough to enjoy it. Health is something you earn by good physical and mental habits, fitness and good nutrition. Today in this fast-paced world everyone is so busy earning their living that they do not notice that their health is degrading. We fail to understand the importance of health, fitness, and nutrition in our life and fall prey to the diseases. In this article we are going to discuss the importance of health, be it physical health or mental health, fitness, and nutrition and why health is important for children, students and all the human beings globally. Health is an essential part of human life. There are hundreds of benefits and advantages of having good health. Physical health and mental health go hand in hand. Having a good physical health helps to improve our mental health. There are various ways one can have good health and Hygiene and sanitation are the most important aspects of it. Every human being on the earth needs to be aware of the importance of good health as there is not enough awareness and guidance available for most of the parts of our society. Schools, colleges, health institutes, NGOs try their best to make people conscious about their health and why maintaining good health is very important but people need to participate themselves for living a healthy lifestyle, making good choices and embracing good habits. Importance of Physical and Mental Health in Our Daily Life Today’s fast-paced world has taken a toll on our health. We have become dependent on the technology to perform our daily work and it has resulted in that we have ignored the importance of maintaining physical and mental health. Continuous work, traveling, keeps us busy. Our food choices has changed over the years. Fast food has become a norm in our diet. Increasing desk jobs has removed the necessity of physical activity to do a task. All of this has made our bodies vulnerable to diseases and our mind more prone to the stress and depression. It is very important to consume healthy food and have balanced diet, workout and meditate to keep us physically and mentally fit. Meditation and yoga help us to calm and relax and to stay away from depression and stress.

Good morning one and all. I am here to speak about Health and Sanitation.

Adequate sanitation, together with good hygiene and safe water, are fundamental to good health and to social and economic development. That is why, in 2008, the Prime Minister of India quoted Mahatma Gandhi who said in 1923, “sanitation is more important than independence” . Improvements in one or more of these three components of good health can substantially reduce the rates of morbidity and the severity of various diseases and improve the quality of life of huge numbers of people, particularly children, in developing countries.

Although linked, and often mutually supporting, these three components have different public health characteristics. This paper focuses on sanitation. It seeks to present the latest evidence on the provision of adequate sanitation, to analyse why more progress has not been made, and to suggest strategies to improve the impact of sanitation, highlighting the role of the health sector.

It also seeks to show that sanitation work to improve health, once considered the exclusive domain of engineers, now requires the involvement of social scientists, behaviour change experts, health professionals, and, vitally, individual people.
