Let X = 1/2 and Y = 1/5



Clearly,


N = 5




D = Y-X/N+1 = 1/5 - 1/2 / 5+1




=> 2 - 5 / 10 / 6



=> -3/10 /6



=> -3 /10 × 1/6 = -1/20




Therefore,



Required five Rational Numbere between 1/2 and 1/5 are ;


X + D , X + 2D , X +3D , X + 4D and X +5D



First Number = X + D



=> 1/2 + (-1/20 ) = 1/2 - 1/20 = 10 - 1/20 = 9/20




Second Number = X + 2D


=> 1/2 + 2 × (-1/20) = 1/2 - 1/10 = 5 - 1/10 = 4/10


Third Number = X + 3D



=> 1/2 + 3 × (-1/20) = 1/2 - 3/20 = 10-3/20 = 7/20


Fourth Number = X + 4D



=> 1/2 + 4 × (-1/20)

=> 1/2 -1/5 = 5 - 1/10 = 4/10


And,


Fifth Number = X + 5D
