The reasons are as follows:-
1. People are utilizing more than what is being replenished.
2. Modern houses have their own underground boaring system which has increased the underground water use.
3. As industries and factories are set up, they also consume a lot of underground water.
4. Farmers also overuse the water present in the nearby wells.
5. Because of land pollution, some amount of water remains on the top and is barred from penetrating underground.
