Dr Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931, at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, India. He specialized in Aeronautical Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology and became an eminent scientist. Dr Kalam was awarded the Padma Bhushan (1981), the Padma Vibhushan (1990), and India’s highest civilian award- the Bharat Ratna in 1997. In 2002, Dr Kalam became the 11th President of India. He was fondly called the people's President for being the first President in the country to connect with the youth via the internet.

Named as the 'Missile Man' of India for his contributions in the field, he redefined the Presidency during his tenure from 2002 to 2007. He often spoke to children and the country's youth-- inspiring them to think big in life; he also penned a number of books. Dr Kalam succumbed to a massive cardiac arrest and breath his last on July 27, 2015 while delivering a speech at IIM Shillong. Here are some of his evergreen quotes from his speeches.

Explanation:

My respective teachers,

My dear friends and the prospective audience

We all are aware that Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is no more with us, and that is a matter of brief sadness but what is a matter of even sadder is that he shared a dream with us a view of us and he is here no more to complete it but we, we must try to complete his leftover dream, however, we are not doing so we are not even paying our attention towards it, will everything be the same as it has been from past hundreds of years, or will there be a change because this is in our hands to bring that change, to thrust it into this society of many evils, we can create the change, it is said, my friends, that youth is the world of tomorrow it is very rightly said, my friends, but before that children are more important because they grow up to be the youth, so we must start training the children of today to be the youths of tomorrow, but many have trained them, bandits, thieves, Nazis etc but the difference will be that we will mould them for good, for the good of the society and not any individual. Second is that we must give them the benefit of education, be because this differentiates us from animals and mad men we must train them to be good human beings then be great thinkers, philosophers, scientists etc. so that we can develop in technology human brilliance etc. and we should teach them that no community is higher than a hum being, no post is higher than him, because these are the humans that make them, so how can the things be greater than the creators.

Thank You
