Step-by-step explanation:

area of trap =1/2×(a+b)×h

let a= x , b= x+2

78 = 1/2×(x+x+2)×13

78=1/2×2x+2×13

78=13/2×2x+2

13/2×2x+2=78

2x+2=78×2/13

2x=156/13-2

2x=10

x=10/2

x=5

so a=x=5

b=x+2=5+2=7

hence, a=5

b=7
