Solution :-

By the given info ,

Let the breadth or width be x

Then , the length will be x + 3

Now ,

As we know that

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where ,

  • l → length = x + 3
  • b → breadth = x

Substituting the values we have ,

⇒ 30 = 2[ ( x ) + ( x + 3 ) ]

⇒ 30 ÷ 2 = x + x + 3

⇒ 15 = 2x + 3

⇒ 15 - 3 = 2x

⇒ 12 = 2x

⇒ x = 12 ÷ 2

x = 6cm

Now , finding length & breadth

◉ Length = x + 3 = 6 + 3 = 9cm

◉ Breadth = x = 6cm

Hence , length = 9cm & breadth = 6cm

Correct Question :-

The length of a rectangle is 3 more than its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 30 cm, then find the length and width of the rectangle.

Solution :-

☯️ Given :

  • Length Of Rectangle is 3 more than its width.

  • Perimeter = 30cm.

☯️ To Find :

  • Length And Width Of Rectangle.

☯️ Solution :

Let,

Breadth be x.

Length be x + 3.

Now, Formula Used :-

Perimeter = 2(l + b).

Substitute the values.

➨30 = 2(x + x + 3).

➨30 = 2(2x + 3).

➨30 = 4x + 6.

➨30 - 6 = 4x.

➨24 = 4x.

➨x = 24/4.

➨x = 6.

Now,

  • Breadth Of Rectangle = x = 6 cm.

  • Length Of Rectangle = x + 3 = 9 cm.
