5. The length of a rectangle is equal to triple the width. Find the dimensions of the rectangle if the
perimeter is 88 centimetres.​

Answer:

perimeter of rectangle = 88cm

let the width be x

now, ATQ

length = 3x (as it is triple of width)

formula of rectangle perimeter

88 cm = 2×(length + width)

88 cm = 2(3x+x)

88 cm = 4x ( 2 will be transported to left )

88/2 cm = 4x

(2 become in divide as in right it was in muliply)

44 cm = 4x

x= 44/4

x = 11 cm

ATQ,

Width of rectangle = x = 11 cm

length of rectangle = 3x = 11×3 = 33 cm

width = 11 cm , length = 33 cm
