They go to Goddess Durga Mandir by walk (without chappals) . They enter the temple (by fresh mind). Some ladies pour water on legs of lady who brought bonam on her head. She make rounds in temple (pradhakasanalu) . she get down the bonam and put some of the curd rice as (nayvedyam). Then she mix the fire of Diya (deepam) with Akanda Jyoti . Bonalu is a Hindu celebration that is praised in Telangana in the period of Ashada Masam This celebration is based on Goddess Mahakali. In this celebration Special "poojas" (venerates or services) are performed for Yellamma. The word BONAM implies dinner in the Telugu language. It is a proposition to the Mother Goddess (MAHAKALI). Ladies get ready rice cooked with milk and jaggery in another metal or earthen pot decorated with neem leaves, turmeric, vermilion, and a lit light on top of the pot. Ladies convey the pots on their heads and make a contribution of the Bonam alongside turmeric-vermilion, bangles, and sari to the Mother Goddess across the sanctuaries as recognition for Mother Goddess (MAHAKALI). Bonalu includes the love of Mother Goddess who is known by many names in territorial structures like Maisamma, Pochamma, Yellamma, Peddhamma, Dokkalamma, Ankalamma, Poleramma, Maremma, Nookalamma. The beginning of this celebration is during the Eighteenth Century in the recent Hyderabad State and is connected with the "Regimental Bazaar" and Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Bonalu is commended on the main Sunday of Aashadham, festivities are held at the sanctuary at Golconda Fort. On the subsequent Sunday, at Balkampet Yellamma sanctuary in Balkampet and Ujjaini Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad, and on the third Sunday, at the Pochamma and Katta Maisamma sanctuary of Chilkalguda and the Matheswari sanctuary of Lal Darwaza in the Old City of Hyderabad. Consistently, lakhs of fans gather to pay regard to Mahakali. Every gathering of lovers offers a Thottilu (a little bright, paper structure upheld by sticks ), as a sign of regard to Mother Goddess (MAHAKALI).
