E. V Ramaswamy Naicker or Periyar he joined Congress. He was an outspoken Critic of Hindu scripture, Specially codes of Manu, the Ancient lawgiver ,that these texts had been used to established the Authority of Brahmans over lower caste and the domination if men over women.
