5(x - 1) + 2(x  + 3) + 6 = 0 \\  \\ 5x - 5 + 2x + 6 + 6 = 0 \\  \\ 5x + 2x + 12 - 5 = 0 \\  \\ 7x + 7 = 0 \\  \\ 7x = 0 - 7 \\  \\ 7x =  - 7 \\  \\ x =  -  \frac{7}{7}  \\  \\ x = 1
