5(x+3) = 3y

5x + 15 = 3y -- eqn (1)

2x - y =0 -- eqn(2)

Rearranging eqn 1 , we get ,

y = (5x + 15) / 3 -- eqn (3)

Substituting eqn3 in eqn 2 ,

2x - (5x + 15) / 3 =0

6x - 5x + 15 = 0 [ taking LCM and transposing]

x = -15

Putting value of x in eqn3,

y = (-75 + 15) / 3

y = - 60 / 3

HENCE , y = -20

X = -15 and Y = -20
