Step-by-step explanation:

Let present age of father be x

Let present age of son be y

5 years ago ;

(x-5) = 5(y-5)

x-5 = 5y-25

5y - x = 20------->1

10 years hence ;

(x+10) = 2(y+10)

x-2y = 10 ------>2

Adding 1 & 2

we get,

3y = 30

y = 10 years

put y in eqn 1

we get

50-x = 20

x = 30 years (Ans)

Answer:

let fathers age be=x

sons age=y

5 years ago,

father age=x-5

sons age=y-5

condition,

x-5=5(y-5)---> eqn 1

ten years hence,

fathers age=x+10

sons age=y+10

condition

x+10=2(y+10)--->eqn 2

by solving 1 and 2 u will get ans
