age of mahesh =

5 years ago,

3(x-5) = y-5

3x - 15 = y- 5

3x - y = -5 + 15

3x - y = 10 – eq 1

after 10 years,

2(x + 10) = y + 10

2x + 20 = y + 10

2x - y = - 10 – eq 2

so, solve this equation

then,

x = 20

putting the value of x ,

3x - y = 10

3*20 - y = 10

60 - y = 10

- y. = 10 - 60

- y. = -50

y = 50

so age of gouri = 20

age of mahesh = 50
