ages before 5 years:-

let the age of Sonu be X
and age of maruti be 3x


ages after 10 years:--

Sonu = x +10
maruti = 3x +10

maruti is twice as old as Sonu,
so, their ages

(x+10)2 = 3x +10
2x +20 = 3x +10
2x - 3x = -20 +10
-2x = -10 [ cancel out]
X = 5
3x = 15
