   Let present age of Preeti be x years.
   and Present age of kanika be y years.
  According to question ,
       x = 5/2 y -----------------------ist

Five Years ago ,
  Preeti's age = x -5
  Kanika's age = y-5
According to Condition ,
   x-5 =  3 (y-5)  ------- 2nd
substitute ist in 2nd we get
5/2y - 5 = 3(y -5)
5/2y -5 = 3y - 15
5/2y - 5 +15 = 3y
or 10 = 3y - 5/2y
or 10 = (6 -5)/2y
or 10 = 1/2y
or y =20
Hence Present age of Kanika = 20 years
substitute y =20 in Ist , we get
x=5/2*20
or x =50
Therefore Present  age of Preeti is 50 Years.
