Let Ashish's father age be 'x' years and Ashish's age be 'y' years.

According to the question,

5 years hence the age of Ashish father will be thrice the age of Ashish,

so, $(x+5) = 3(y+5)$

$x+5 = 3y+15$

$x = 3y+10$  (Equation 1)

Also, while 4 years ago,his father was 5 times as old as he was.

So, $(x-4)= 5(y-4)$

$x-4=5y-20$

$x-5y = -16$

Substituting the value of 'x' from equation 1, we get as

$3y+10-5y = -16$

$-2y = -26$

y = 13

So, Ashish's age is 13 years.

As, x = 3y+10

$x = 3(13)+10 = 49$

So, Ashish's father age is 49 years old.
