A Report on Annual Day Celebration
Junior College celebrated its Annual Day along with Department of Science, Humanities and Commerce on the 06th June, 2019 at Derozio Hall, Derozio building. It was presided by the Guest of Honor Dr. Romila Thapar (eminent historian) and Mr. Sugata Bose was the esteemed Chief Guest. Among other dignitaries present were Mrs. Anuradha Lohia (Vice Chancellor, Junior College), and directors of other department. The programme commenced with the College anthem with feeling of inspiration and togetherness and after well come dance performed by FY M.Com students. After annual report of institution were presented by Dr. Madhura Damle and Mrs. Divya Paulrose. This was followed by the lighting of the Ceremonial lamp by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Guest of honor and other dignitaries escorted by the Dr. Anuradha Lohia. The Chief Guest, Guests of honor and other dignitaries on dice were felicitated by the students. Dr. Anuradha Lohia (I/c. Director) gave his welcome speech and introduction of Chief Guest. In her speech, she highlighted the achievements of the institute, students and faculty members during last academic year. She also motivated students for do better in future. The formal function of annual day ended with a vote of thanks given by Dr. Sumit Chakroborti. After the formal functions, Cultural event was diligently organized. The performances opened with a group dance from BBA girls. Various events in the field of dramatics, dance, and singing were performed by students. However, everybody enjoyed cultural functions. The audience comprising students, faculty, staff, non-teaching staff etc., enjoy every item of the programme with a great fun. At last much awaited event dance on DJ was enjoyed by students. Success of this event couldn’t possible without commendable effort and meticulous planning of last year students of Science, Commerce and Arts along with the cultural union of the institute.
