Colligative properties of solutions are properties that depend upon the concentration of solute molecules or ions, but not upon the identity of the solute. Colligative properties include vapor pressure lowering, boiling point elevation, freezing point depression, and osmotic pressure.

◾️Explain abnormal colligative properties exhibited by some solutes in solution.

\huge\frak{\underline{\underline{Question:}}}

Since colligative properties depend upon the number of particles of the solute, in some cases where the solute associates or dissociates in solution, abnormal results for molecular masses are obtained. The fraction of the total number of molecules which combine to form bigger molecule.
