50 liters of milk is mixed with 150 liters water. X liters of total mixture is taken out and 16 liters milk and 28 liters water are added in the mixture. Find the value of x, if the final ratio of milk and water is 3: 8.​

In the original mixture Milk = 21 liters and water is 9 liters In the new mixture the

ratio of milk and water is 3 : 7 Since milk contents remain the same in both the mixtures

so 21 : x = 3 : 7 i.e. x = 49

Hence water to be added in mixtures = 49-9 = 40 litres
