r1 = 50 ohm

r2 = 100 ohm

Voltmeter connected in parallel to r2

Voltmeter resistance Rv = 100 ohm

So  parallel resistance = Rp

1/Rp= 1/r2 + 1/Rv

1/Rp = 1/100 + 1/100

Rp = 50 ohm

Rn - net resistance

r1 + Rp = 50 + 50 = 100 ohm

net current = 2.4/100 = 0.024 A

Voltmeter reading = net current * Rp = 0.024*50 = 1.2 V

Voltmeter reading = 1.2V
