After the jallianwalla bagh incident, Gandhiji thought that the satyagraha are limited to some cities only, So he started uniting the Hindus and Muslims.

Britishers were rivals of Muslims because they defeated the khalifa of muslim.

Gandhiji met Muhammad Ali and Shaukat Ali and discussed about the unity of India.

In the calcutta session of Congress in 1920, Gandhiji convinced the other leaders to start the non - cooperation movement khilafat movement .

Gandhiji had written in his book (Hind Swaraj), the britishers had survived in India because the Indians are cooperating with them.

It means that if Indians refuses to cooperate with britishers, the British rule will collapse.

In the month of January, 1921 , Gandhiji started the non - cooperation khilafat movement.

The motive of this movement is to boycott the foreign goods and use Indian goods..
