UNO - The united nations officially came into existence on 24 october, 1945. The 24th of October is celebrated as United Nations Day. Today, the organization has 192 members.

The objective or aim of UNO is-

To maintain international peace and security.

To develop friendly relation among nations on the basis of equality and self determination.

To foster worldwide cooperation in solving economic , social, cultural and humanitarian problems.

To save succeeding generation from the scourage of war.

To promote human rights and fundamental freedom for the people of the world.

To serve asa center where various nations can coordinate their activities towards the attainment of the objectives of the UNO.

To recognize the fundamental rights of all people.

Principles of UNO-


Firstly, the organization of UN is based on the principles of the equality of its members.

Secondly, the members of UN in order to enjoy the rights and benefits shall fulfill in good faitg the obligations imposed in the UN charter.

Thirdly, the members shall settle international dispute by peaceful means.

Fourthly, all members shall refrain from threat or use of force against any state.

Fifthly, all members shall assist the UN in any action it takes against state that is offender.

Sixth, all non-member state shall act according to these principles.
