What is force?
Answers
In physics, a force is any interaction that, when unopposed, will change the motion of an object. A force can cause an object with mass to change its velocity, i.e., to accelerate. Force can also be described intuitively as a push or a pull. A force has both magnitude and direction, making it a vector quantity.
what is force??
simply we said that force is the push or pull upon on object...
let you imagine a stationary object on the ground and someone pushing it or pulling it .... when force is applied the stationary object will move but this doesn't explain the concept of force entirely...
Before we move on to the definition of force ,lets clear a few misconception about it...
Let a football is lying at rest on the ground it's stationary ,not moving at all.
so my question is .... here any force acting on the ball??
some said no and some have didn't any answer....
but the answer is yes. There are acting on this ball . There is an gravitational force, which is trying to pull the ball towards the center of the earth. And the ground is applying an equal force exactly in the opposite direction. This force is called as normal force. Because
these two forces are balanced ,they do not changed the position of an object. The net force acting on the ball is zero.
so now a man kick the ball softly.... then what happens??
simply the position of the ball is change.
now the question is ... why the position is changed???
it's because there was another magnitude of force acting on it and this time the forces will not balanced. The ball moved and there was displacement..
But hold on why did the ball stopped after covering some distance?????
The ball started moving at a peace and then slowly came to a halt . If there is no force from the other side to stop it , how did it stop?
was there a force which stopped it??
yes it was friction that was stopped the ball . While the force is applied was towards the right the force of friction was towards the left
NOW COME TO THE DEFINITION OF FORCE
A force is a push or pull open an object resulting from it's Interaction with another object .....
