Answer:

Heya mate,Here is ur answer

A mixture of two substances is formed when they are mixed together in any ratio without going into a chemical change. For example- Iron + sulphur.

A compound is a substance constituting two or more substances mixed in a fixed ratio and had undergone a chemical change. For example- Iron Sulphide.

To prepare a compound of Iron and sulphur, Take 14 g of iron and 8 gm of sulphur, mix them and heat them. Your compound is ready.

To distinguish that whether the substance is mixture or compound of iron and sulphur using dilute HCl, put few drops on both the samples.

Fe +s >FeS

FeS + 2HCl ----------> H2S + FeCl2

2 Fe(s) + 6 HCl(aq) -----> 2 FeCl3(aq) + 3 H2(g)

This will burn with a pop sound.
