500 men took dip in a tank which is 80 m long, 50 m broad. What is the rise in water level if the average displacement of water by a man is 4m^3.
Thx :)

The volume of water displaced(overflowed) by 500 men =500×4m^3=2000m^3
So, that volume has to be 2000m^3 if the tank was cuboidal.
The rise be r then
r×b×l=2000m^3
r×80m×50m=2000m^3
r=0.5 m
So, the men will rise the water level by 50 cm.

Displacement of water by 1 man = 4
Displacement of water by 500 men = 4*500 = 2000
Area of base of tank = lb = 80*50 = 4000
to find: height of raised water in tank
now, lbh = Displacement of water by 500 men
so, 4000h = 2000
so, h = 0.5m
Therefore, there is a rise in water by 0.5m
