500 pencils were distributed equally among children in such a way that the number of pencil received by each
child is 20% of the total number of children. How many pencil did each child receive ?

let number of pencils each child gets be X.

Then, According to the question,

20*no. of children/100= X

no. of children = 5x

So,

X*5x = 500

X^2 = 100

Therefore, X = 100 or -100

But, X can't be negative so X is 100 pencils

Therefore, each child gets 100 pencils.
