1.33 atm

Explanation:

Given:

P₁ = 1 atm (normal pressure), V₁ = 500 cm³ = 0.5 L

P₂ = ? , V₂ = ?

V₂ = Volume reduced by 25 %. The remaining volume is 75 % of its original volume =  0.5 × 75/100 = 0.375 L

We know that According to Boyle's law

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

P₂ = P₁V₁ /V₂

    = 1 × 0.5/ 0.375

    = 1.33 atm
