Explanation:

(a) Gas molecules are very loosely packed since they don't have enough intermolecular force of attraction to hold each other hence when they collide each other they transfer their energy and exerts pressure.

(b) Every thing (matter) that can flow like liquids and gases exert pressure on the walls of container because their atoms are not too tightly packed rather they are loosely packed and every particle have some kinetic energy so they move since "they don't have enough force of attraction in between the atoms they cannot hold each other like solids" Hence when they collide with each other and walls of container they exert some pressure.
