Unitary method :

25 shirts can be made = 55 m of cloth

1 shirt can be made = 55/25 m of cloth

35 shirts can be made = 55/25 * 35

= 55/5 * 7

= 11 * 7

= 77 m of cloth

35 shirts can be made = 77 m of cloth

Here I used Unitary method. You can also use Proportion method to solve this problem.

Proportion method :

Let the measure of cloth be x m

Proportion = 55 : x : : 25 : 35

We know that product of means is equal to product of extremes.

Here mean = x, 25 ; extremes = 55, 35

Product of means = Product of extremes

x * 25 = 55 * 35

25x = 1925

x = 1925/25

x = 77

Therefore 77 m of cloth is required to make 35 shirts of same size.
