5kg block is resting on a frictionless plane.It is struck by a jet releasing water at the rate of 3kg/s emerging with a speed of 4m/s .Calculate the initial acceleration of the block.​

v=4m/s

dm/dt =3kg/s

a=?

we know that

F=v dm/dt

= 4×3

=12N

therefore a= F/m=12/5 = 2.4 m/s sq.

force of water =3kgs-¹*4ms-¹=12kgms-²

force exerted on bock=force of water

12=5*a

a=12/5=2.4ms-²
