Sol: Given (5)2x -1 - (25)x - 1 = 2500 ⇒ ( 5 )2x5-1- (5)2(x - 1) = 2500 ⇒ ( 5 )2x 5-1- ( 5 )2x 5-2= 2500 ⇒ ( 5 )2x / 5 - ( 5 )2x / 25 = 2500Let ( 5 )2x = a ⇒ a / 5 - a / 25 = 2500 ⇒ 4a / 25 = 2500 4a = 62500 a = 15625 But ( 5 )2x = a = 15625. ( 5 )2x = 56 ( bases are equal power should be equated ) 2x = 6 x = 3.
