5x+2y=-3 .................eq(1)

and x+5y=4...............eq(2)

substitute x=4-5y ......... eq(3)

then place in eq 1 we have,

5(4-5y) +2y=-3

or, 20-25y+2y=-3

or, 23=23y

thus y = 1 then x = -1 from eq(3)
